Celebrate
Personal History Month every Friday at 10:30am.
On Friday May
2 Donna Ingham will present, “How to write your life
story.” A personal journal will be given with
pre-registration.
Inspiring and motivating life story
events will continue every Friday throughout the month.
Hill Country Yoga instructor Debbie Sapp will present a free
Gentle Yoga
program on Saturday, May 3 at 10:30am. Every one is welcome. Bring a
mat or pad and wear comfortable clothing.
Coffee talk
continues the first Wednesday of every month. Join book lovers on
May 7th at 9:30am for a book discussion led by Patrick
McGee. The discussion will focus on the book, The View from the
Center of the Universe.
May is also
Photography Month. In observance of the occasion, Marble Falls Library will
exhibit a selection of photographic prints by professional
photographer Warren Price, a Highland Lakes Area resident on May 9
from 10am to 6pm and various other members of The Lakes Photography
Club on May 10, 2008 from noon until 3pm.
Prints
will represent many different genres and techniques, everything from
simple black and white printing to High Dynamic Range Photography
and Tonal Mapping to Panorama Stitching to Portraiture to
Landscapes. Members of the club will be available to discuss the
methods and techniques used in processing and printing the images.
On May 14 at 4:00pm to 5:30pm, the library welcomes the
Marble Falls High School Humanities Photography Exhibit. Students will display photographs from their “Freeze-Frame Life”
collections.
Lunch with an Author
- The
Friends of the Marble Falls Library will host Marci Kaylakie on May
21. View historic quilts from her collection. Call the library to
reserve a box lunch. Box lunches will be served at 11:30am and the
program will begin at noon.

Children's
Chat
All
ages will have a groovy time in May at the Marble Falls Public
Library! Story time for children younger than Kindergarten is
Thursday, 10:45am and 2:00pm. Ms. Eileen will present books,
crafts, activities, fingerplays and songs that all will enjoy.
Prime-Time Kids, K-3rd grade invite all school age children
to join them Thursdays 4:15pm-5:00pm.
Children will create art masterpieces which will be displayed in the
library throughout the months of May and June! Check out the
special programs for children in May:

if you were a dog or cat? Would you be Down Girl, Sit, or maybe

play some "fetching" games with us!

The library is hosting a
Fancy Nancy Tea Party!
Yep, dress fancy! If you don't we'll have a few "accessories" to
help you get fancy. Listen and enjoy the book Fancy Nancy by
Jane O'Connor while you eat fancy sandwiches and have pink
lemonade. We will have a style show and practice sipping our
lemonade with our pinkies up! All ages are welcome!

Finale for Prime-Time Kids!
Wear clothes appropriate for water games! Water balloons are
definitely involved!

garden project
The
month of May is a great time to be outside in the garden. The
library is teaming up with local Burnet County Master Gardeners to
present a month long educational gardening program just for kids.
Classes start on Friday, May 2 at 10:30am. Kids will gain hands-on
experience working side by side with local Master Gardeners.
Pre-registration is required.
