| The Marble Falls Public Library has
two meeting rooms designed to meet general informational, educational, cultural and civic
needs such as discussion groups, panels, lectures, conferences, seminars, exhibits,
displays and programs. A community meeting room for groups no larger than
75 is available
for use from 7a.m. to 11 p.m. A smaller conference room for groups no larger than 10 is
available during library hours.
General Guidelines
Meetings held in the Library must be public
meetings and open to all wishing to attend.
There is no charge for meeting room use.
Solicitation, admission or other charges, money-raising activities and/or sales are not
allowed. All programs and exhibits shall be free. Library sponsored events, workshops
and/or seminars may require a donation to cover the cost of materials and supplies.
Advertising, notices or any printed materials must
include a disclaimer that the event is not in any way affiliated with or sponsored by the
Marble Falls Public Library. The Library's phone number and address may not be provided as
a contact.
The following uses are not permitted:
Meetings that further a commercial interest
Meetings in which a religious worship service is held
Meetings that directly support a political issue or candidate
Meetings that are purely social functions
Questions involving meeting room policies and procedures will be resolved by the Marble
Falls Public Library Director.
Reservations
Requests for use of a meeting room may be made in person or by telephone or online. A
completed reservation form must be on file 48 hours prior to the meeting.
Cancellations should be made as soon as possible to
allow other groups to use the room.
Library related functions may pre-empt existing reservations, but only
if necessary.
Requests will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis. Groups may not reserve space
on a weekly basis for more than 90 days.
The individual making the reservation, as well as members of the group as a whole, will be
held responsible for damages that may occur as a result of the use of the facilities. The
group is collectively responsible for observing the Meeting Room Policy.
Permission to use Library meeting rooms may be withheld from groups failing to comply with
the Meeting Room Policy and from any group who damages the room, carpet, equipment, or
furniture or causes a disturbance.
The Meeting Room is available when
the library is closed, but the key must be picked up during business
hours.
2008 closings through September
are: Jan. 1, Jan. 19-21, Feb. 16-18, March 21-23, May 24-26,
July 4-6, August LakeFest, and Aug. 30-Sept. 1.
Care and Use of
the Facility
New:
No food or drink allowed on or around the area rug.
The KEY to the meeting room must be obtained before
the meeting from the Information Desk during normal library business hours.
It is the
users responsibility to check the librarys schedule for Holidays and other
closings.
After the meeting, lock the meeting room door and the outside door then deposit the key in
the OUTSIDE BOOK DROP located in the North Wall beside the Staff Entrance. The individual
signing the Meeting Room Reservation/Application Form is responsible for all key and lock
replacement costs if the key is lost or not returned before closing time of the next day.
Meeting room statistics are important to us! The Meeting Room Statistics Form
must be
completed and returned. The key and statistics form can be returned at the information
desk during library hours, or in the outside book drop after hours.
A mini-kitchen is provided in the community meeting room for light refreshments or sack
lunches. NO RED PUNCH is allowed.
Please remove all supplies, food items and trash when you leave. No refreshments are
allowed in the lobby during library hours. No refreshments are
allowed in the lobby during library hours. No refreshments are permitted in the conference
room.
The group must remove all trash from the building. Take it with you or drop it in our
dumpsters, space permitting.
The library staff will not accept calls or relay messages to people attending meetings
except in emergencies. A courtesy phone is available in the lobby for out-going local
calls.
Do NOT affix anything to the walls. An easel and conference
board are available; the user must supply erasable
markers, erasers and flip chart pads. Clean boards when
done.
SMOKING is NOT permitted anywhere in the Library by State Law.
No additional furniture or equipment other than that furnished in the meeting room by the
library may be used without library approval. If approval is given for use of additional
furniture or equipment, it must be removed at the end of the meeting. All Library meeting
room furniture should be neatly stacked against the walls or in the closets, leaving the
floor space open before locking the room.
Programs and exhibits may not disrupt the use of the library by others. Persons attending
the meeting are subject to all library rules and regulations. Meeting participants must
keep noise to a minimum, especially in the public areas of the library; the granite floors
amplify all sounds. Parents are responsible for the behavior of their children.
Library facilities must be left in a clean and orderly condition. The library is not
responsible for materials or equipment left in the building by users.
Permission to use the library facilities does not constitute an endorsement of the group
by the library staff or its governing authorities.
The Library is not obligated to post notices of flyers for programs it does not sponsor.
